More Americans report climate-related anxiety, especially after recent extreme weather events (APA, 2025). Known as “eco-anxiety,” this worry about environmental collapse can cause insomnia, irritability, and helplessness. As a PMHNP, I help patients channel concern into healthy action.
5 Coping Tips for Climate Anxiety:
Stay informed—not overwhelmed: Choose balanced news sources.
Take eco-action: Recycle, vote, plant trees.
Practice grounding: Focus on present calm, not future fear.
Join local initiatives: Builds community and hope.
Limit doomscrolling: Set boundaries on news intake.
